2.5 years after the fact

Yes, it has been a long time. I sorta forgot I made this blog...but spiffy idea, eh? I'm lovin the whole boat theme; my tacky sense of humour is way too much for me...how do I even change that "Welcome Aboard"??? Anyways, I guess I will just have to live with that mistake...

SO things have been real swell over here! I hope that things are going well for you too, darling reader! I have done a lot in the past two years, but I will tell ya now that all I will be able to talk about is the new Gilmore girls revival...and don't even kid yourself; somewhere deep inside you are also very excited. I will get a for realz post up one of these days when I am not dying to go to sleep, and it will be a grand day indeed!!!  Aaaaaand cut.

A Fun Little Fing to Do

In the winter time I find it SO hard to think of stuff to do with my leisure time, because my favorite things to do are usually related to being out of doors. Now that the weather is improving I am trying to take full advantage; trips to the mountains, days in the park, walks, eating out on patios... oh man, I love this weather. Life's so much more exciting when it's warm out!
A couple days ago Scott and I were going through a box of his old keepsakes... and among all the old letters and photos we found an unused Subway gift card...from around 2008...so we took advantage of this little token the past had gifted us! Free meals are always extra enjoyable.
We went into the city yesterday to get groceries, but instead ended up going out to eat (hence the gift card) and then picking up our friend, Calvin. We headed to the park and threw a frisbee around for a couple hours. It was so, so nice...the weather was perfect, and someone was strumming on their guitar in the background. After frisbee we went over to Starbucks and got some frappes (the Chocolatey Chip is divine by the way, like drinking a cookie!) ...sat outside, watched the traffic flow by... thank heavens for this weather.

Now that I think of it, the point of  me starting this blog post was actually to show off a few little crafts I've been working on this morning... here's a fun little project that you can do: toothpick dolls! I found out how to make these last year via Pinterest, and then I tried making a few when I was babysitting my cousins. They're easy, fun, and make for a good little hobby. All you need is embroidery floss, toothpicks, and tacky glue! I'll show you some of my older ones as well as some I made today!
Yes, I made Scott and I...wedding edition, haha.

Older ones...

What I made today! Little prego chick with a toddler...

This one is my favorite.
Scott says the pictures don't do them justice...so they do happen to be cuter in real life... just saying.
I had made a few for my missionary sister, and sent them to her last Christmas, but alas, I have no pictures of them! Anyways, there you go.
Stay happy!

Back to Blogging

Hello friends, family, and stalkers! Warm welcomes...okay, I'm back at this blogging thing (that's your cue to REJOICE!) You can now be super up to date on the Deweys! Sweet, eh? So, introductions...My name is Samara, and I will probably be taking the reins on the ol' blog. I'm trying to convince Scott to mildly participate by drawing a few extra-awesome pictures for it...but alas, no luck! He says this is my blog, and if I drew my own pictures for it it'd make it more my own....what a laugh...if only my doodles were internet worthy.
